oculus go browser not working

browser has suddenly stopped working on oculus go, no updates so its not thgat, crashes whenever you try to open vr. very annoying tried to re pair to app but app wont go past the heath and safety acknowledge button on set up and factpry reset isnt working in the go either.. have lots of paid apps so dont want to go down the delte data option as dont want to risk losing all ive paid for.

browser of headeset also crashes when clicking support link. i like your eh...."humor"....

He Ryan, I did not get any update yet. but NOT finding it now takes significantly longer. Do I have to consider this as progress?

 

For those who got the update, any guidance on how? I’ve put on my Oculus each day and gone to settings, about, and it says no updates available. I take it off and check again the next day. 

is there some different process for the update? Does it have to remain on for a while or something? Is it a browser software update that’s done in some other way?

 

My update happened so fast, (day 2 after Ryan posted that it was rolling out) that I can only remember not being on developer mode, connected to my PC, my phone app open and it showed up. It happened so fast that's all that I could remember.

Connected to PC? I’ve never connected the Go to anything.

I posted the steps I took on page 28 of this thread. I believe was the 2nd user to get it. Do not try to update the browser-let the headset do it after restarting.  Good luck.

Today, Saturday the 12th, My GO still has not receive the browser fix that was rolled out 11 days ago.  WHAT'S GOING ON GUYS??!!!

Nothing digital should take this long.   I can drive across the United States faster!
P.S I'm not buying a Quest 2 if that's what this is all about. In fact, you've turned off hundreds of previously loyal customers to the Oculus brand with this deceit.

This is my last post on this thread since my GO is working. My steps, took a few times but ultimately worked.

 

Turn off Wi-Fi/Bluetooth on phone.

Delete Oculus app on iPhone

Press and hold volume down/power to factory reset

Follow prompts to factory reset and confirm

Re-download Oculus App

Sign in and setup device via app

Then go on go device select settings about and look for an update.

 

I did this step 3 times last Th afternoon. Turned off and kept it off for a few hours then checked it at 11pm and the option to update the software was there (settings > about on go device). Not certain if the update is user/device/serial number based but just keep checking.

 

It sucks factory resetting and losing everything but I chose this route because I literally kept waiting for the push update they did that broke everything in the first place. Seems like the reset forces the system to update by reconnecting to their servers.

Ryan and his team don't know how to fix this so they have simply walked away from the problem and are trying to sweep it under the rug.  All REPLY buttons have been grayed out.
