Keep an eye on the length of time that it takes the battery to die even when plugged in. It seems as if the battery is dying more quickly these days. Reminiscent of when Apple was killing batteries on older iPhones during updates.

My battery has always been fairly useless, but since the latest update I am finding the headset "stuttering" a lot and Youtube keeps freezing and then crashing.

It may just be a coincidence as I haven't seen anyone else complaining about this.

I am one of the lucky ones who has now received the fix to the browser issues, but I found it hard to believe how long it took to fix such a major problem which was caused by the previous update, and I am finding it even harder to believe how long it is taking to roll out the update.

I wonder how long it took to roll out the previous update which broke things - surely it wasn't this long as it seems most of us started having problems at the same time?

My battery life seems to be a bit longer now. Its snappy as well. There is no lag. All of this is subjective though as I don't have the amount of time that the battery worked for in the past. I did have "no sound" issues and 3 crashes when I first started using it after the fix. Those seem to have gone away now.

I just read another post where support told them they will have to be patient while they send the update out over the year 2022.  WTF?

That's an odd choice, most likely the agent decided to play it safe and give a very, very large timeline instead of the original guidance. The update should be fully rolled out soon, which would be "over the year 2022" with a considerable amount of buffer. I wouldn't read too much into it.

I'll let you all know as soon as I hear that it's out for everyone, and I'm checking in with the team regularly to check on if there are any issues with the rollout.

If there are issues with the rollout? IF?

I don't understand the frankly insulting responses. First there was no acknowledgment for nearly a month. Then we had a fix that would roll out "by the end of the week", then it was "tuesday", then it was "the 12th", now its "soon" or maybe "over the year 2022".

And never a hint of an explanation as to why the previous deadlines weren't met. We want to know what is going on. No one has provided a reason why a multi-billion dollar company can't roll out a fix for a device-bricking bug for every customer simultaneously or nearly so.

Considering that it didn't take weeks to break all of our devices, it certainly seems like this was a designed kill-switch rather than a "bug" in the latest update. Clearly a lot of people posting here believe that, and the lackluster communication and refusal to actually provide an explanation for the ridiculous delays are not heloping that at all.

Just tell us what the hell is going on!

I think they are also hiding this forum and other regarding this.  If you search for webxr crashing on this forum, nothing comes up.

Hello to everyone,

i`m also one of us, who was waiting two months for fixing update... checking many times Oculus GO settings, if there was new update notification or not, and nothing was happened many days, so i was very confused, put the glasses away from my desk and i was looking for an option, to return the glasses, because i`m still under warranty coverage...

Today, after week, i check the headset, and voila, the update was installed, without doing anything manualy...

And best information was, that everything was working properly, so, Many thanks @Ryanality for help, and i hope, that support will be still exist for Oculus GO...

And about delivering algorithm, i live in Slovak Republic, Central Europe, and i get that update today - 15.2.2022

well still no update here....lets see if i get one before the end of 2022?

This thread isn't hidden, it's properly located in the support board on our forums. And WebXR or WebVR aren't used in the original comment, subsequent comments, the title, or set as a tag for the post, so I'm not surprised search engines don't pull it up based on that search term. If you search for "oculus go browser not working" this thread is basically the first thing that comes up here or on most search engines. I'm going to add those tags now, just in case that helps more people find their way here.

As to the timing, I made the mistake of providing an educated guesstimate based on experience with past rollouts. I was wrong. So, for now, I'm just going to stick with "soon" and I'll let you know when it's fully deployed.
