passthrough background is black when watching videos

I've never had any problems watching pass-through videos on my Quest 3 until about a week ago.  when I'm on the main menu of my Quest 3, pass-through works fine and I can see my room perfectly. when I try watching a video though I can't see my room at all. the background is just either black or blue, and these are videos that I've already successfully watched in the past with pass-through and it worked perfectly. I was able to see my room and myself. but now for some reason the background is just either black or blue or a solid color. I can't see my room at all, yet the pass-through works perfectly when I'm on the main menu. I've tried on two different apps, Moon VR player and playa VR, and it's the same problem with both

Thanks for bringing this to our attention! We would love to help you out with this passthrough issue, so that you can get back to watching videos without a problem. 

 

We would like to suggest a Hard Reboot of your headset, as this can often resolve software glitches. 

 

To Hard Reboot your headset:

 

Hold down the power button and volume down button for 30 seconds until you hear the boot-up sound
If the boot-up sound is not heard:

 

  • Hold the power and volume (-) button down simultaneously until the boot screen loads on your headset.
  • Use the volume buttons on your headset to highlight "Boot Device" and press the power button.
  • Use the volume buttons on your headset to highlight Yes and press the power button.
