My quest 2 stuck USB update mode

I can't even click on any of the options, the bar just keeps cycling through the options and pressing the power button won't click on any of the available options. None of the buttons are stuck, I take pretty good care of my tech Sadly, when I got in contact with meta for help, they couldn't do anything for me and basically told me to blow my money and replace it. This just sucks because it was a gift from someone really important to me.

We're truly sorry for our delay to address your concerns regarding your device, but we're happy our support team could help to provide more insight on potential next steps.  With looking into possible replacement options not being the most appealing, especially when the gift means so much to you, we want to make sure the following have been completed to confirm all troubleshooting has been attempted: 

 

  • Charge the headset for 2 hours.
  • With the device powered on Hard Reboot the headset by holding the power button for 30 seconds. 
  • As the device is coming back up, let's uninstall and then reinstall the Meta Quest mobile app. 
  • Lastly, perform a factory reset after backing up the device via Cloud Backup

Of course, if any issues continue to be seen, do let us know! We're happy to review with our support team the best next steps!

Currently I’m experiencing the same issue I tried to get resolved 7 months ago, support over the phone said they would ship me a new quest in the mail, I’m still waiting and I’ve also got usb update mode boot loop, thought by now there would be some way to update the software via usb to pc by now. well I guess not.
