quest 3 headset very quiet with headphones plugged in.

I have been using my quest 3 for about a week now, the built in audio is ok, but whenever I plug in any headphones to the headset its so quiet even on the max volume, I have tried 3 different pairs of headphones ranging from over ear headphones to earbuds etc. is this normal, is there something wrong with my headset or is there anyway I can fix this?

I can firmly say none of these are able to fix the issue. I bought Soundcore VR P10 headphones that are made specifically for meta quest 3, and when dongle is plugged in, it becomes impossibly quiet. (This also applies to regular headphones plugged in like the person who started this post was indicating, which led me to purchasing headphones specifically for the headset)

We know it is not an issue with the headphones, because by simply connecting the SAME headphones to the SAME VR headset via Bluetooth, they are MUCH louder. The issue then becomes the woeful latency of the Bluetooth function on the Meta Quest 3.

Can't have the dongle or regular headset plugged in because it's too quiet at MAX volume, can't use the Bluetooth function with even the lowest latency headphones on the market because the audio delay is severe. Please help! An update on the hardware is necessary to allow for louder direct audio input.

Nope.  None of the instructions provided fixed the low sound issue.  Beyond disappointing.  Nice job, Meta.  Ever heard of QA???

Looks like the answer is, no.  Still not fixed 9 months later.  I hate this product already after 3 days.

To be fair I am experiencing the same issue. My P10's are stuck at low volume when connected via their own dongle.
Even when I am in Steam VR where I can adjust the volume I can see there it is stuck in 40% and when I try to move it a bit higher it mmediately snaps back and sometimes I even get that notification about "Louder than safe levels" but it still automatically lowers and I can't hear a thing.

On phones it sometimes requires a special confirmation that they can be put on higher volume (where I saw this notification before as well but with different headphones) at the cost of my own hearing so I assume it is a similar problem here and quest just doesn't allow to move past "safe" levels, which sucks.

Thank god I found this thread and someone mentioned that pairing it via bluetooth fixes this as I was ready to give up.
