quest link microphone wont connect on device manager

when i go on quest link my headset microphone says on device manager it isnt connected and i saw on an article to delete it and reisntall it so i deleted it but dont know how to reinstall it please help for a cookie

Hey there, @bearsieboy! We want to make sure that you're able to use the microphone on your headset, so we quickly began looking into this for you! We found some steps that may help, so please try them below.

 

  1. After deleting the device from device manager, make sure that you restart the computer and headset to allow a fresh connection once your PC reboots.
  2. After rebooting, connect your device to your PC as normal.
  3. On your PC, navigate to Windows Settings > Sound > Manage sound devices. This should show all of the sound devices currently being recognized and prioritized by your PC.
  4. Select Oculus Virtual Audio Device.
  5. If the device is currently disabled, enable it, then restart your computer.

If this method doesn't work, make sure that you have the latest drivers and that your Meta Quest headset is also up to date, as this should prompt the device to appear for your computer again. To check for driver updates:

  1. Close the Desktop app.
  2. Press the Windows key + R on your keyboard to open the Run command.
  3. Enter C:\Program Files\Oculus\Support\oculus-drivers.
  4. Open oculus-driver.
  5. Open the desktop app and then try to connect your headset again.
  6. Your Meta Quest will receive software updates when plugged in and not in use.
