quest link not working (quest 2)

Hey I am using the official quest cable https://www.meta.com/nz/quest/accessories/link-cable/ and my pc has the right specs to run questlink (as defined by the official meta site) https://www.meta.com/en-gb/help/quest/articles/headsets-and-accessories/oculus-link/requirements-que... and I plug my quest 2 into the pc it recognizes it I can connect it to the app I can see the pc on my quest called "rift" for some reason but as soon as I try launching quest link on my headset its just a black screen with the loading dots and on my pc it gives me the notification titled "hardware information" with the body text of "meta quest link isn't working correctly. Click here to visit our support article." and clicking on the message just takes me to the support home page https://www.meta.com/en-gb/help/quest/

Hello there, @starfinder8! We understand you were running into an error when connecting Quest 2 to PCVR. We can certainly work on this together to get you into PCVR gaming. We see you have checked that the proper cable is being used along with the PC meeting the requirements for the Meta Quest link. We would recommend going through the steps below:

  1. Remove any third-party accessories.
  2. Update graphics card driver
  3. Check the app for any updates.
  4. Uninstall/Reinstall app from the PC
  5. Reboot headset
  • Hold down the power button and volume-down button for 30 seconds until you hear the boot-up sound.
  • If the boot-up sound is not heard:
    • Hold the power and volume (-) button down simultaneously until the boot screen loads on your headset.
    • Use the volume buttons on your headset to highlight "Boot Device" and press the power button.
    • Use the volume buttons on your headset to highlight Yes and press the power button.
