Hi,
I bought a refurbished 128GB Quest 3 model from John Lewis when going through the setup process, I am able to access apps on my headset, but when trying to access the developer mode settings in the meta horizon app the only options are "finish setup" and "factory reset". I have tried factory reset 5 times but nothing changes. When pressing "finish setup" leads to a page which just loads infinitely.

Not a solution - Marking for visibility
Hey everyone, I have notified the engineering team of this issue; I will let you know when I receive any news!
Thanks to @dadadjango it appears that completing this process on an Android device may provide a possible alternative.
In the meantime, could you all please submit a bug report, as this will accelerate the process and provide the engineers with some additional info.
Thanks!

This is perfect as I have exactly the same problem. Trying to set up a Quest3 for my son. Do you know if he is able to use his birthday present without connecting to the iOS device? (Ie with child settings on)

Hey there! Thanks for joining us here, its good to see you.
The Meta Quest devices require them to be connected to some version of the Meta Horizon app, whether that's on iOS, Android or a form of Desktop. Hope this helps!

Thanks, the clarity is amazing the abundance of Apple devices in our house is less so.

Hi @Jash300
Unfortunately, I do not have a specific timeframe to give you as I only pass on the information to the engineers. I can assure you however that they take these issues seriously and will work to resolve this as soon as possible.
As soon as there is an update, either myself or another one of the wonderful moderation team will let you all know. Have a great day, I hope your son is able to experience VR soon!

I am having this same issue. I reported it through the iPhone app. I don’t have an Android device.

You can enable dev debugging another way, via the Meta Quest Developer Hub, follow this video: https://odysee.com/@Squigoul:d/How-to-enable-developer-mode-without-oculus-companion-app:2
It worked perfectly for me yesterday 🙂
