i should add i have tried running as my user, as admin, creating a new local user with admin perms, moving the installer to the root of c:\, cleaning the old installs with cccleaner, manually cleaning the installs and trawling through the log file...
As usual, the best way to start is to refer to the Oculus Rift troubleshooter and if this does not fix things then contact Oculus Support and supply them your log files.
Also, if you are using virus checkers other than win10 defender and win10 firewall then you should try disabling them until you have downloaded and installed the Oculus desktop app.
Also, do not plugin your headset or sensors until after you have installed the app and plug them in as directed when you go though your Rift cv1 setup. Good luck mate.
i have tried with the headset disconnected at time of install, I tried disabling defender & windows firewall. i am on a clean install of windows 10 pro - 20H2, with no other AV solutions running. Looks like i will have to raise a support ticket. nothing anyone else has suggested on here seems to be working 😞
I am having a similar problem and have been working almost daily with Oculus Support for 2 weeks and they can't figure it out. I've tried all the same things and still get the same errors. I get this error in the OculusSetup.log
