My PC does not have any of the graphics cards specified in the requirements for connecting a PC to a Metaquest headset, but all I want to do is to transfer files from the PC to the headset. Is there any way to just transfer files from the PC to the Metaquest without having to have one of the extra-expense graphics cards?

Yes, just plug the headset in with a USB cable and accept the prompt to allow file access. Have you tried that?

I have attached the headset to my PC with a USB cable, but do not get any prompt in the headset to allow file access. I turn on my headset and it goes through the displaying the Meta logo, then asks me about setting the boundary and the floor level, then it displays my default environment... I can get it to display the control panel but it never asks anything about allowing file access. So when/how does it come up with the file access question?

When you attach the cable between the PC and the headset, you should get an in-headset prompt about accessing files. A lot of people select "don't ask again" by mistake which stops the prompt appearing in future. To re-enable it you'll need a developer account to access the developer menu in the headset where the USB dialog prompt is located.
Or your cable, or one of the USB ports may be faulty.

Thanks for the info... how do I get a developer account if that is what is necessary to re-enable the question about allowing accessing files. I don't think the cable or port is faulty as I use them to connect between my PC and Android phone with no problem.

I still need help... I followed the steps in the link you provided but I never was able to get the prompt. I'm new to using the Metaquest headset but I'm not new to computers... another user suggested that when the question came up to allow access when I first started using the headset I may have responded "don't ask"... and according to that user the only way to get the prompt back is to have a developer account.

Googling "Quest developer account" (I know, I'm some sort of internet ninja) took me straight to https://developer.oculus.com/sign-up/?locale=en_GB
