Hello! My card (Visa) was charged by Meta Store FacebkPrtl * M for $999.98 (16 Dec) and more than $500 (24 Dec) without any authorization. I didn't make any purchases. My bank didn't help me at all. Please can you help me?

So much for the account security and Meta being unhackable ROFL
The beauty of forcing people to hand over the control of their money to Meta is that once bad things happen it near impossible for the user to stop the drain.
Only removing the linked payment options would do that but by then the damage is already done.
Now... How WOULD a hacker get around the much hype security in the Metaverse?
Easier than what you might think....
Do you use your FB or Google credentials to log into your Meta account and do things on your headset ? 😉
Means a compromised account here allows a scammer to just log into your Meta account, using YOUR actual log in details, to then order things like a new headset from your account to a different address and name.
Probably even bogus names and a shared address.
The only thing you, the real user, get is a notification from your bank or such that you made a purchase - one you did not make.
Even IF you enable phone verification, the scammer can just set up your account to also accept an authenticator app.
So you see Mata did all to get your privacy under their control and to have full control over your linked payment methods but the PREVENTION of fraud is entirely in your hands alone 😉
None of this could happen if Meta would use what is accepted worldwide - the USER authorising payments rather than the user just confirming with a pin or such that Meta is allowed to take their money.
If you buy something online than you would never give consent to the shop taking money out of your account.
Instead you accept their payment request to then transfer your money to their account.
Meta does the exact opposite here but no one seems to have any concerns, let lone objections giving a company with that kind of long list of privacy and user abuse dating back to day one full control over their money LOL
