v69 Recording a video while multitasking did not capture the mic

Recording the multitasking of Cubism & browser [displaying a Twitch chat] captured the audio for the game, but not the mic. I'm not using an external mic, nor do I have that option on; and of course, it was not muted. 🙂

Hey @sorryaboutyourcats! We understand you are having some trouble with your recordings not picking up the audio from your mic and we know how important that can be. We would love to help you get to the bottom of the situation as quickly as possible. We have a few troubleshooting steps we would like you to try.

 

  • Make sure the microphone is clean and not obstructed. On Quest 3 the microphones are built into the front plate and the center camera. There is one on top of the center camera and one on either side just below the center camera
  • Remove any unsupported third-party accessories that may block the microphone (such as a third-party facial interface, etc.)
  • check the game/app permission to make sure microphone is enabled
  • Reset Microphone - Settings > System > Sound > Toggle Microphone
  • Reboot the headset

Ever since I took the update to v69 I've had nothing but issues. I had to factory reset my headset in order for it to connect to my PC through airlink or the cable. After I got that working I later found out that for some reason the mic audio is not being passed to the PC when connected via airlink or the cable. I get audio through the speakers but the audio is not going to the apps that have selected like discord or whatever. And my in-game chats don't even work when I'm playing on PC.

Hey there!

Thanks for the suggestions, but all of those things were done and still the mic doesn't work.
Considering the day before it worked with the only difference being the v69 update, I'd suspect that would be the main cause.

Maybe I need to turn off the newly added features and then restarting?
Anyway, I'll have more time to troubleshoot next week, though I appreciate the help.
