UPDATES
Improved World Capacity
We heard your requests for increased World Capacity on our feedback tool so we’ve made the following changes:
  • Simulation and Animation cap: We increased the Simulation and Animation cap of Worlds by 30%.
  • Sounds Complexity cap: We improved the measurement of complexity from the Sound Recorder gizmo, which will increase the amount of Sounds Complexity capacity available for most Worlds.
Our work does not stop here! We will continue our work to improve world capacity to unlock more creativity for Horizon creators.
Introducing the Welcome Board We’re adding an interface panel that greets people in their personal space. It is a board that will list new features, release notes, and more all in one place for easy discoverability and reading!
New Mini-Games
  • Bumble Rumble- In a garden of flowing honey, players find themselves in their slingshot command stations. They are given a slingshot and asked to fire upon targets throughout the world to collect pollen and gain points. Each player will need to be fast, accurate and focused on scoring the most points by the end of the game.
  • Brush Rush- Visiting a world-famous Modern Art Museum, players show off their painting skills by shooting canvases with paint brush guns.
  • Ocean Cleanup- Just underneath the ocean’s surface, players use laser pointers to guide whimsical trash-collecting robots through the water.
Improvements to Personal Boundary We've improved Personal Boundary in Horizon Worlds to bring our community more options to control their Personal Boundary experience. Personal Boundary will remain default on for non friends at almost 4’ but now people have the choice to adjust the Personal Boundary’s size and audience to:
  • On for Non friends: personal boundary is default on for non-friends at almost 4’
  • On for Everyone: Personal Boundary is on for ‘everyone’ (friends + non friends) at almost 4’ (people need to proactively adjust it to make it on for everyone)
  • Off: this means the almost 4’ personal boundary is off. Our app will continue to provide a small boundary to prevent hand waving harassment (people need to proactively adjust it to make it off)
New Sounds for Avatar Emotes! We are adding 3 new emote sounds for the below avatar gestures:
  • Celebration gestures when an avatar raises both arms in the air above their head.
  • A single thumbs up when an avatar does this gesture.
  • Double thumbs down when an avatar points both thumbs down.
Experimental Voice Command We are testing an experimental feature that allows Horizon Worlds creators to use voice to control the state of worlds. For example: Play, Stop, Reset. Creators can double click the Oculus home button or say "Hey Facebook!" to use this feature.
Replacing ‘Group Friendly’ with ‘Public Popular Hangouts’ in the ‘Join Now’ Tab We are replacing the "Group Friendly" category in the world catalog landing page "Join Now" tab with "Public Popular Hangouts". You will now see different content and category names.
More Hand Colliders Each player’s hands are now represented by seven colliders (i.e. 2x for each thumb, 2x for each index finger, 2x covering the remaining 3 fingers, and 1x for palms). With this improvement, hand interactions are now more precise, meaning creators no longer need to create giant buttons to avoid accidental button pressing.
New Property to Control Who Can Grab Objects We added a new "Who can grab" property to objects to address feedback we've heard about more granular control over grabbing. You'll find this property in the "More" tab of the properties panel on any grabbable object.
There are 3 settings:
  • Anyone: All visitors can grab the object
  • First to grab only: Once a visitor grabs the object, no one else can grab it (unless they leave the world)
  • Script assignee(s): Only the players specified by the "set who can grab object" code block are able to grab
When combined with the "Who can grab from holder" property, you'll be able to fully control and customize who can grab objects in your worlds.

Visual Update to the Wearable We’ve updated the wearable on your wrists to provide more glanceable information, including the time and the name of the world you’re visiting. You can access the wearable by making sure your palm is turned towards your face and your head is looking at your palm.
