How do I make a ground in my world? Any tips out there for making it look more realistic?

I've had good luck with using large half-spheres that are "squished" in the vertical axis to be almost flat.
That gives a nice slightly bumpy surface that you can easily control with vertical adjustments and the size of the parts. Be warned that round objects can sometimes have unpredictable boundaries, and players can fall through, so use plenty of overlap in your parts.
