Why does the app meta horizon word says unavailable?. I live in California.

Hey @Blairstunt2020. We definitely understand the excitement of wanting to join the Horizon Worlds, so we'd love to take a further look! While we understand you're in the United States, let's also check the following: 

  • Account reflects 18+
  • Make sure you're not connected with VPN
  • Try a different internet connection if possible.
  • Try downloading the app on a different web browser.
  • Try downloading the app on the headset.
  • Try a different device if possible.
  • If Facebook is linked to the Meta account, remove then re-add Facebook account, here.

After attempting these steps, please let us know how the game appears!

I'm having the same issue as the OP, I am in Texas. I had it installed for months, then it disappeared. I've chatted with meta store support and all I get is my horizon world account is active and not banned or suspended. I can download it from the Oculus Store on PC and play via airlink but I can't install it for standalone use on my quest 2. The only troubleshooting step I haven't taken is factory reset the headset.

Hey @trentthetrex! Not being able to enjoy Horizon Worlds on standalone Quest 2 can be certainly disheartening. We don't want that for you, so let's see what we can do to get you back into enjoying Horizon Worlds as quickly as possible! I have seeked help through the discord channel and even discussing with other users. It appears it’s an issue on the Meta side. I have been talking to Meta Support for two weeks with no result, they have sent me to the discord and now I am here.

We appreciate you reaching back out to us for assistance! Since you have already sought help through the Horizon discord channel to no avail, we would recommend performing a factory reset as a last resort. 

To perform a factory reset:

  • Turn off your headset.
  • Hold the power and volume down (-) button on your headset down simultaneously until the boot screen loads on your headset.
  • Use the volume buttons on your headset to highlight Factory Reset and press the power button.
  • Use the volume buttons on your headset to highlight Yes and press the power button.

Performing a factory reset will delete all headset content and in-game data, to be started up as if brand new. Purchases previously made will still be linked to your Meta account. In regards to your in-game data, we do have a Cloud Backup which developers can choose to opt-in and out of anytime. The developers can also choose exactly what they would like to be uploaded to the Cloud. Please let us know if this helps to resolve your issue. We will be standing by just in case further assistance is needed!

I have completed the factory reset and all it did was cause me to just reset everything back up. I still can't get Horizon Worlds on the standalone quest, but I can still play through AirLink with my PC.  This is an issue with the Meta's App Store. I need to know who else to contact because this has been an ongoing issue for far too long. I have been extremely patient.

Could you please confirm with us if you are able to use Horizon Worlds when using your headset for PC VR? If so, are you able to log into Horizon Worlds on your PC through the same account as the one on your headset?
