I purchased a rift about 5 months ago and I heard about quest and rift s about right afterwards. After looking into them more, they look amazing, and an ability to be able to trade in a rift for at least $50 off of the rift s or quest would be amazing. Thank you oculus team, this would help out!
I would like to be able to send my rift back and get some sort of credit towards one of the newer HMDs. I bought mine right before the new headsets were announced and now I wish I just would have waited. I don't want to get a new headset for free, just a discount. To clarify: I don't expect to be able to send in a DK2, just a normal consumer Rift.
I second this and I just talked to support and was told to come here. I would like to trade in my rift for the upgraded unit since I would have no use for the old one if I buy the new one. the new one offers tons of benefits including not having to mess with the annoying sensors.. im 6'4'' and setting them up high enough yet able to pick me up when I bend over is nearly impossible.. I would love the new headset but cant justify buying one outright and having my old unit just sit and collect dust.

I posted this comment elsewhere but I feel it needs to be seen, for 50 Id say thats way to low of an offer id like to see at least 150-200 since its still usable.. I don't want a free upgrade but if they offered me to send my old one in for the new one for half off id jump on the offer.
I absolutely agree. I have Oculus Rift that I bought last year, but with Quest out in the market I want to upgrade, but I asked Customer support. They said no such option available at this time. With technology changing this fast there should be upgrades and trade-in options available.
Old post, but I gotta say it is ridiculous haha. The thing you bought that they were going to stop supporting would then have to be sold again. Not bloody likely XD
