Deleted some photos & videos from headset that were synced to my mobile phone app Meta Quest and now i can't delete them from the cloud.

How the hell can such a thing be possible? The GDPR is unambiguous and clear, the practices you are using here are illegal: The right to erasure (Articles 17 & 19 of the GDPR) obliges you to delete the data without delay or to enable manual deletion. You do neither!

I agree. I've made a photo when I was in panties and my girlfriend was top less and now everyone, who is curious about how the Mobile App and Quest 3 works and looks alike, can see us in such uncomfortable situation.

This is not a bad design.

It is concrete evidence of a lack of design.

And even without a design, an implementing engineer of any quality would have gone back to the designers and said "you didn't ask for a way to delete data we dump on a users phone without permission, so I went ahead and put one in."

In year end reviews the designer would have been fired and the engineer would be made a lead.

No design, and designers who pretend it is the design.

It‘s ridiculous, and needs to be fixed, but I‘ve seen complaints as far back as 2022, and Meta obviously doesn‘t care.

I know again why I am an Apple costumer usually.

This is very simple. For a company trying to create a “Verse” where everything is synced and communicates. I should be able to easily delete the photos and videos that I have taken with my Meta headset either with a few clicks in the headset Gallery or a few clicks in my synced phone app Gallery. It needs to be seamless. The data should be deleted from both places, which ever UI is being used. You need to get on this ASAP.

Yes they really need to change this we cannot delete any photos or videos that were synced with the mobile app there is no option to do this and this is ridiculous kids could see things that they were not meant to see if they get into that

Guess they're waiting for the eventually lawsuit or class action. Facebook/Meta really is the worst when it comes to consumer consideration. The fact that this is still a problem months later is evidence enough that they just don't get it.

I need to remove my information from the cloud, i cant delete data from the meta quest mobile app on my phone. Photos are deleted from the headset and are still on the app. I repeat, no photos are on the vr headset. This is an issue with the cloud and my phone. Sync and unsync dont work because its on my phone and there is no way to delete the media from my phone. If this isnt possible i would like to delete my account and recieve a refund for my headset.

The complaints about this date back to 2021. I assume Meta isn't about to start caring now unless someone makes them.

Any EU citizens here who wanna make a GDPR complaint?
