I haven’t made an avatar so my character just shows up as a grey man. I don’t care what the avatar looks like, but I don’t want to have to see the arms or torso! Is there any way to disable the avatar or go back to the original oculus transparent hands?

edit: In the comments the feature seems to be in the works!

Pro tip:  Forcing your artistic opinions on others is ALWAYS a bad idea.  This is exactly what Meta has done when they said "Hey, wouldn't it be cool you could see your avatar's arms and hands in your home environment?  Yeah, let's force this on everyone and not give our users a choice on the matter.  Let's cram our opinion down everyone's throats whether they like it or not. Why?  Because we have this power and we're going to use it.  Don't like it?  Too bad, deal with it!"

This really does appear to be Meta's attitude.   A simple check box in "Settings" that toggles arms on/off is so fast and easy to implement but it's not there. Why isn't it there?

I second this. An option to revert to semi transparent hands would be ace.

Tell Zukerturd to get rid of these retarded avatar arms/hands ASAP. OMFG are these things ANNOYING. Who could honestly be this stupid? Are you trying to make your product worse? Why don't you just have virtual donkey randomly show up and f me right in my virtual ass. Heres a radical idea. next time you brain dead idiots implement something this freaking annoying give an option to TURN IT OFF. duhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. if this doesn't result in employee(s) being fired for incompetence then look forward to more pissed off customers.

The arms do not work and are not a "good decision". I was a bit peeved when the changed all the ui. Then they forced me to create a meta account or I couldn't play games without being kicked out. But then they forced the noodle arms on us. I used to love putting on my oculus quest 2, oh wait sorry meta quest 2, to play games that I bought and wanted to complete but with there being more and more bugs with every "patch" I found it almost impossible to enjoy. It has come to the point that I would rather be forced to watch a nick jr 24 hour special on loop 24/7 then use my vr headset. Meta get your *$#@&* together and listen to the community for once or maybe you might face yet another lawsuit.

Yeah, these horrendous arms are distracting and don't even align with my body. I guess I'll stop using my quest until an update is pushed for an option to switch between avatar and ghost hands/arms. This is just ridiculous.

I literally can't use my quest because the arms make me so uncomfortable. I freak out. I just wana play or hang out in the home space. But the arms and body make it impossible and uncomfortable. Honestly I might sell it just to get a vr headset that won't do this.

I recently hopped back onto my Quest 2 after a very stressful month at work, and as soon as I went into my home I was greeted by shiny arms. I find these arms poorly animated, and they don't go with the peaceful setting of the home either. Many agree with me, and it really removes from the whole VR experience. Hand tracking is even worse. To be honest, the hand tracking hands before looked a lot more elegant and gentle than this. Please consider giving us the option to remove them and go back to the previous mode. They remove so much from the experience that I don't really want to play anymore.

1000000000% it looks out right TERRIBLE! I miss the phantom hands, it was perfect before. Or at least an option to turn it off or back to phantom hands

I would be fine with this if it was an option, but as always-on it's outright terrible. I frequently use only one controller to navigate the main menu UI, this makes the unused hand lock in place but still being visible, it's extremely distracting. This feature belongs in Experimental IMO.
