I haven’t made an avatar so my character just shows up as a grey man. I don’t care what the avatar looks like, but I don’t want to have to see the arms or torso! Is there any way to disable the avatar or go back to the original oculus transparent hands?

edit: In the comments the feature seems to be in the works!

They suggested in the forums to put it out as an idea. See if it gains traction. Looking at it seems to be the most popular thing to be able to take out weird horizon avatars from oculus home.

I also hate the wibbly arms. They wobble in weird places. Please allow us to turn them off.

Ghost hands for the win

Why wouldn't you build this feature with an option for the user to turn it off?

We don't all want ZuckerArms. Stop forcing new features on paying customers.

How on earth was this "Feature" allowed to pass quality testing without an option to toggle them on and off by the user?

Stop forcing new features on paying customers without a decent testing plan.

Want to get feedback on new features? Give them an opt-in / beta .. don't just lob it in production and pretend everyone will be ok with it.

Yeah, allow us to disable body, arms and mirror too. It's a useless and unwanted addition. Let us free a bit of RAM and CPU by disabling these.

It's slowly merging with horizon if you don't get that. You're going to need an avatar just make one.

No, I don't need an avatar. I'm never going into those VRchat-type places, so why would I need one? I play beat saber type games. No avatars, they only bog down gameplay. VR IS about gameplay. If it's anything else I have no use for it.

Oh so there's more than one thread about this. Good. Get rid of the Avatar arms. If you don't understand what we're talking about, we mean both the full-body avatar and the stupid arms in the Oculus home. I'm standing in the steam punk apartment that has one style of graphics while the arms and avatar clash with that style.

This isn't just "toxic fans", this is really creepy. I'm looking forward to whatever Valve comes up with as a stand-alone headset so I can ditch this headset.

The arms make me feel extremely uncomfortable at best. At their worst they are utterly horrifying and have caused me to panic and rip off my headset a number of times. The feeling of dissociation caused by the completely untracked elbows is unbearable. I have an original Quest 1 and am close to needing an upgrade. I was going to buy whatever headset Meta released next, but this 'feature' is a deal breaker for me. Unless this is made optional I will take my business elsewhere.
