I haven’t made an avatar so my character just shows up as a grey man. I don’t care what the avatar looks like, but I don’t want to have to see the arms or torso! Is there any way to disable the avatar or go back to the original oculus transparent hands?

The arms make me feel extremely uncomfortable at best. At their worst they are utterly horrifying and have caused me to panic and rip off my headset a number of times. The feeling of dissociation caused by the completely untracked elbows is unbearable. I have an original Quest 1 and am close to needing an upgrade. I was going to buy whatever headset Meta released next, but this 'feature' is a deal breaker for me. Unless this is made optional I will take my business elsewhere.

Please, this is the most ridiculous thing you could ever do.
I know times are tough at Meta but this is just ridiculous

Just voted, I invite everybody to do the same, those arms are terrible

Indeed, the quest 2 was the last device I will ever buy from Meta, the only selling point was the price and the design, not the environment and Meta made it worse. Their policy and their strategy is ridiculous

I've noticed an avatar now appears in the home screen (and also 360 degree videos with its arms slumped by its sides). I think it is quite off-putting (arms especially) and think it would be great to include an option to remove it entirely.

Just so you meta guys know, I will refund my recently purchased oculus because of this hand stuff.

This is ridiculous, at least give the people a chance to switch it off. I will wait for a Valve standalone...

Please add a feature to toggle the arms off. It is very jarring and they get in the way of seeing the bar at the bottom. Ease of access please

The arms are so annoying. If you ever actually try to use hand tracking they get in the way so much when the headset thinks every 5 seconds that my wall is a hand and sporadically teleports a large rubber band across my vision. They're so janky and completely turned around my initial impression of hand tracking being tidy and neat. Now I get to feel like some sort of virtual Playmobile character having a stroke when I'm just trying to watch use the browser

The Home is our private space, not some social game.

Please allow us to remove the avatar and go back to the transparent hands.

Also, allow us to remove the mirror that make you feel like someone stepped into your private space and watches you, this makes me feel uncomfortable.

Literally all I want is a toggle. Let the people who like this feature keep it, let those of us who find it creepy and bad swap back to the ghost hands.

I am SO sick of neurotypical a**eholes not realising that changes like this really mess with some people, Google is another company that's really bad for it- Changing things for the sake of changing things with no thought that it won't be seen as beneficial by everyone.
