Quest 3 is amazing, but watching a video and eating or doing other things is impossible with hand tracking on.
The hand tracking went everywhere it shouldn't, pausing the video, exiting full screen, dragging the window to another place.

There should be a way to temporarily disable/enable the hand tracking with a gesture or by pressing some power/volume button combination.

I really need this feature! Watching videos with hands tracking on is almost impossible.

I agree there should be some manual control over the hand tracking with a gesture. It still does accidental window resizes even though latest changes hide hands for longer period. Though I hate that software decides when  hand tracking is needed and when it is not. It works bad and it will work bad. Give us manual control!

We got the new UI with many windows, but still have horrible hand tracking behaviour, when it activates where it is not necessary and starts dragging window corners around. Or when I want hand tracking to work I have to wait 2-3 seconds when it activates.

This is super annoying. GIve us manual control over the hand tracking! I don't want the software to decide when to have it enabled, software is always stupid. How come you can't realise this?

I’d love to see this implemented as well. I rarely use the controllers unless I’m playing a game. As mentioned above, the headset tap gesture would be pretty good as there seems to be little chance of a false positive.

I’ve never tried the Apple Vision Pro, but I’m curious how that works with enabling and disabling hands since there are no controllers from what I’ve read.

Assuming it’s implemented well, perhaps Meta can “borrow” their idea.

I guess my 6 month estimate was overly optimistic.

Bumping this thread again because it is not only still an issue, it's gotten more annoying. With apps like Virtual Desktop becoming more functional, the complete lack of reasonable hand tracking management in the system is an even more glaring oversight. C`mon Meta, let's get moving on this. There's a ton of ways it could be implemented:

 * A specific action with fingers like in Immersed

* A button press on the headset (double tap / hold volume, quick up & down)

* triple tap on the headset

* Hell, I'd even be happy if you had to cover the cameras with your hands for 10 seconds while singing "Ring around the Rosy"

Just pick something and make it happen already!

Hand tracking gestures need to be disabled in order to use the new VRchat beta. Come on, Meta, do your job.
