As we know, display panels of Rift S and Quest are capable of running at 90Hz, but locked away due to heat or certification issues. Please provide an experimental option for advanced users to "overclock" their device and use it at higher refresh rates. We understand that Oculus wants to provide a smooth experience for general customers but please also allow room for enthusiast users to tinker with their devices.

Oculus Rift S definitely needs a 90Hz mode.

Coming from a 90Hz lcd Hmd i can see the difference in fast action game at 80 Hz particulary in drive sim, i feel less VR presence too . This is my only complaint about the rift s and i don't understand people that say there is no difference between 80hz and 90 hz, maybe they haven't played on a 90 hz lcd hmd before. If they add a 90 Hz mode the rift s will be perfect for the price.

I have noticed that smooth locomotion makes me ill with the Rift S, while I have absolutely no issues with CV1. The most likely culprit is the refresh rate. Please give the option.

We know that they lowered the refresh rate to 80hz because they wanted to have the same system requirements on Rift S as on CV1, but why wouldn't they enable 90hz for people that have system good enough to run it? I don't know.
