I'm sure many people, including myself, are not happy with the black levels of the display, after coming from the OLED Quest 1. Well I have thought of an idea to help fix this (which can probably only be done by oculus). I've seen that some people go into the system settings to reduce the backlight brightness to make the blacks darker, but this also makes everything else darker, all the time. I had an idea that there can be some small app running in the background (or maybe even built into individual games) that reduces the brightness of the backlight when in dark scenes. This will mean that bright, daytime scenes will look just as good as normal but darker scenes can actually look dark, and more realistic. I mostly notice how bright the blacks are in scenes that are meant to be completely dark, so this will really make a difference. The contrast of the display or other things may also need to be changed with the brightness to make it look right, but I'm sure the people at FRL can figure out how to do it (if anyone even reads this lol). Thanks, and please vote if you like this idea!

I'd like Quest Pro or a Quest 3 to have MicroLED full array local dimming!
