Hi there Metaquest. Please can you find a way to allow casting from a childs account? We have bought the Metaquest 3 specifically for my 10 year old child, so he is the primary user, in fact the only user. I’ve set him up with a childs account so that he remains safe and can only access content appropriate to his age. But we can’t see what he is playing, which in my opinion is a safety concern as we can’t identify whether the content is appropriate for him. It’s also not helpful as he asks us questions about what he is playing and we can’t help or give him suggestions. Please, please, please can you find a way to allow casting from a childs account? Many thanks 😊

Love the device for my 10-year-old, but we're struggling with the casting from his child account. It's a safety thing, you know? Can't keep an eye on what he's up to, and he's always asking us questions about his games. Any chance you can sort this out? Would be a game-changer for us parents. Thanks a ton

I cannot stress enough how much parents should be able to cast from a kids account.

1. security. Some games are multi player and parents should be able to monitor this

2. Troubleshooting. Kids don't always have the patience to troubleshoot what they are doing and trying to walk them through it is hard (just ask anyone in IT that has done help desk work)

3. Kids LOVE!!! to show off what they have done/ are doing. Casting would let them engage friends and family and show them. This would encourage family togetherness and not make it a world of their own so much.

4. Did I mention SECURITY? I know many people let kids play multiplayer games and that is great but not all people in these games are people you want your kids associating with.

I am guessing the issue is in needing admin rights for casting for some reason and Child accounts cannot connect due to missing rights but maybe set things up so a parent\admin can log in first  and start casting than switch to the child/second account and the casting will continue.

Please, Please, Please make this a priority.  A parent should have ability to watch their child play for so many reasons.  Safety, assistance, and for fun.  My kids would like to watch each other play.  I would like to - it would help make it a family event.  I should be able to "drop-in" on my kids whenever I want to check to see how they are doing just as any parent would check on their child while playing in a different "room".

As above, my soon has received a meta quest for Christmas, we purchased thinking we would be able to supervise his experience by casting to another device.

It is very concerning that this is not possible as this is a potential safeguarding issue.

Yes this feature is a must for kids. On the Quest 2 my kids just used my account, but I decided to make their own for the Quest 3 so I could use my own account for my use. I always casted to my phone when they were on it in order to observe what they were doing, who they were talking to and so on. Meta needs to flip the switch and make casting from a child account possible ASAP

This seems bizarre to me that the system was implemented to not allow a parent to see what their child is doing on their parental controlled account.  This should be a capability based on the need for a child who may likely be less tech savvy to have assistance navigating menus and errors, as well as allowing parents to monitor what their child is doing/playing.  This should be top of the list for corrective actions to a system if you truly wish to call it "family friendly".

This is an absolute must feature and a failure by your product management team that it hasn't be prioritized in backlog to be added.  Many people buy this for children and want their children to use the "child" account for the constraints it creates.  To force a child onto an adult account so the family can share the experience is a bad user experience.

Agree!  I was literally just searching how to cast from kids account. They could help me by casting while I was playing but I can’t do the same for them. Strange.

Just got a Meta Quest 2 for Christmas, and thought I did enough research on it. Unfortunately when I setup accounts for my family, we are unable to cast or see the screen on my phone when a secondary account is using the headset. This is extremely surprising and frustrating as the kids are trying to play some kid games, but get stuck and we can’t help at all.

Yeah, this is a massive fail!
