It can be hard for newcomers to demo the Quest when they have no idea what to do or can not find the app. People should be able to start an app as long as the Quest is connected to your smartphone remotely.

This would definitely be helpful, sometimes people are in the room with me and if I hear something nearby it would be nice to be able to pause and activate passthru quickly so I can verify I’m not about to crash into someone. Another option would be to be able to bring up a PIP pass through up in the corner.

I know! I tried to let my little bro (like 6yo) play and every time took it off it kicked him out of the game and he didn't know how to get back in!

Hey all! I work in hospice care, and had been using the Oculus Go and now also the Quest with the patients there. However, many patients lack certain degrees of autonomy and require my assistance with using VR. It would be extremely beneficial for them for me being able to control their experience from something such as the companion app. Thanks!

I need this also. While I'm sure I would use it for helping people to start with VR, I most want it to be able to go to the nursing home in town. I would like to be able to spend a few hours each week and let maybe 4 people DO something in VR. But to even get close to ok there, I can't just shoot them in there and let them have control. Please. This is so important for so many people.

I would love the ability to launch, and Uninstall an app from the Library view of the Oculus Companion App. This would be helpful for demoing VR to others, but it is also a huge accessibility feature for low vision and legally blind users like myself. On the Rift, I can buy, launch, and uninstall an app right from the desktop app. I can install apps from the app to the Quest, but cannot run or uninstall them via the phone. Sometimes being able to see or read things in the headset dashboard is difficult, if not impossible for low vision users. Being able to manage apps, and adjust ALL settings found on the headset also in the companion app would be very helpful. Even think of the number of people who wear glasses, but may not need to, given a little more accessibility like this. Thanks.

You can already do this, have Bluetooth and location turned on on your phone/tablet, go into the settings and connect to the quest. Then go back to the store and find a game you've already purchased, click into it and you'll see a start button. It'll fire the app straight up even if your already in another game.

I agree , this would be great for so many practical reasons. Although there is a comment here that says it's already available, frustratingly i haven't seen any sign of the start button, maybe the start button is only on purchased apps from the store?

You can now do this!! If you go through your Library on an iPhone and select the game there is a blue button that says Start. You need your phone connected to your Quest.
