We're running a course in Horizon Workrooms and we need to be able to record the meeting for students who might miss class, and for students with disabilities who need a transcription of the class.

Hey @cmu.travis. The Quest 2 can take and share video in Horizon Worlds using your camera and media gallery. You should be able to record as long a video as you like, given your device has sufficient memory.

Here is an article with instructions how: https://www.meta.com/help/quest/articles/horizon/explore-horizon-worlds/take-and-share-photos-horizo...

Is this the type of function you were looking for? Let me know 🙂

Hi, @Tonberry_Qing, thank you for the link to video recording. We also reviewed the casting feature in the Oculus mobile app. Unfortunately, these features do not meet our requirements for recording academic courses.

The link above describes a technique to record a video from the headset user's perspective. In this perspective, the camera angle or view follows the angle or view of the headset wearer in VR, which may be reacting to the environment (e.g., the user hears a nearby voice and briefly turns to see the speaker, before turning back to their starting view).

We need a solution to record the Workroom from a fixed camera angle that can view (separately or in combination) the instructor and the whiteboard. The Workrooms web app has the right camera angle, actually. This is the view that Video Call (VC) participants can see. If there was a mechanism in Workrooms to record that view, then that would be fantastic. In addition, we need transcription services for the speakers to comply with ADA requirements. Since the audio tracks are recorded separately for both VR and VC participants, it would be great to have those recordings transcribed as best as possible.

Hi @cmu.travis , did you ever find a solution how to record? I’m facing the same issue with a virtual writers’ room project for emerging screenwriters I’m starting. I would like to record the teaching part of the sessions. Let me know, thank you 😊
