With the shutdown of the PC VR Home, I'm sad at how old nostalgic environments are going away.
I would love to see an official app allowing people both new to VR and long-timers to visit old environments. Ideally it would just be another app in the Store, not a built-in feature, so people could download it if they want, without it hindering platform functionality.
It could have the Tuscany demo, updated to support modern navigation instead of relying on keyboard (maybe a mode where the old keyboard movement was still supported, if someone wanted to see what that was like? But for exploring the model, newer approaches are convenient too)
The old Oculus Home, with the carpet, and with the two outside versions, would be nice to explore. Quest has the classic environment that shows just that first one, which is neat, but the other two I believe aren't represented.
The Oculus Store environment was beautiful. I fully understand why it went away, it's silly to launch a new environment to buy stuff, it adds friction, but I really loved the little waterfall and the display of VR headsets.
I don't know how the recent Homes would fit into the picture, due to their customizability and multiuser support, but that would be great if they would fit in somehow.
