Pets in the home environment

I have been using the Meta Quest 2 for a few weeks now. One thing that I've noticed is that the home environment feels very lonely and isolating, which goes against the entire goal of the Metaverse.

I believe that adding a virtual pet companion to the home environment would be a great addition. Imagine for a second, being able to interact with a virtual dog- petting it, playing fetch, and giving it basic voice commands such as "sit" or "roll over". With this simple addition the home environment wouldn't feel so empty anymore. If anything the environment would feel welcoming and amicable. 

I strongly believe that users might even become attached to their virtual pets, therefore keeping them engaged for longer periods of time. Personally, I've never owned a dog. I would like to adopt one in the future, but in the meantime a virtual pet might be fun to have!
