Remove Mandatory Facebook login in order to accept friend requests and use the Oculus app. I have never had Facebook nor do i want it. I just want to play vr. I don’t want to have to have facebook to enjoy my 500$ Virtual Reality Headset with my friends.

I won't be purchasing an Oculus Quest 2 until the mandatory Facebook login is removed. I don't want to share my gaming data with Facebook - they have far too much personal data already!

Agreed, I purchased a quest loved it... soon after this facebook authentication thing came in and I went with it since eventually it would be mandatory anyways. Then facebook bans my account and doesn't give it back, stripping me of a few hundred dollars of games and a usable headset. I wanted to escape into VR, not engage in another social network.

I ended up in a glitch login loop upon using my ocolus for the first time due to Facebook and oculus account trying to merge. I don't want a facebook account I do not like social media. It should never be a requirement. I'm upset to hear about censoring of resi 4 vr because of 'feelings". Adhering to these people is defeatist and you should be doing more to respect the gamers who have kept games alive for decades than ruin their experience and the gaming industry based on sensitive people. And now to find out there are no replacement controllers incase one breaks. I've made a big mistake getting this system.

100% this. they should allow you to use it without a facebook account.

Disagree, Facebook is free, nobody forces you to post your life biography there... if this is an issue, you guys have no issues in your life... ridicolous

It doesn't matter if Facebook is free...the issue is that they ask for a real name and ID which is not practical especially if you don't want a FB profile in the first place or just want to remain anonymous on the Internet. I decided one year ago to permanently delete my Facebook and with that goes a few hundred dollars in VR games down the drain. There has to be a better solution to allow Oculus users to separate their real world identity with their VR identity...simple.

I think its absolutely absurd that, should something happen to your facebook account, youre out $300+ dollars plus games. Not to mention any mobile games you have facebook connected to. Its borderline stealing at that point. My Facebook account got needlessly banned and now i have 0 access to the VR headset that i spent a lot of money on. Either give me my 300+ dollars back, or give me my account back

In an education setting it is simply not possible for us to use the devices with a Facebook account. We are an educational support facility where we provide a "Lending library" to rent STEM/STEAM Tech to our districts free of cost. We purchased 12 Oculus Quests 2s that we want to rent out to our districts, but do not know how to get around the Facebook login requirement. Most of our district's block Facebook on their firewalls so students cannot access it during the school day. I contact support and was told there was no way around this requirement. We are trying to expose students to technology that they may otherwise not have access to for a number of reasons and the Facebook account requirement is hindering that.

I will never join Facebook. I guess I will never have an oculus.
