'I really, really like the virtual desktop environment that comes for free in the Oculus Dash environment. Thank you for including it. There is some functionality, however, that I think would make it more useful and reduce friction in repeated uses. These items are: - When I have a single display up (Monitor 1 selected from the Dash menu), I can move that display around but when I attempt small adjustments from it's initial position it "snaps" back to the original position. Please change this behavior so if I move it up, over, or down by a small amount it retains my preference of position rather than returning to its original position. To be clear, if I move it by a large amount it stays where I move it, but anytime I try to move it to a position close to it's initial position it snaps back to the initial position. Annoying. ...and tiring from an human factors standpoint because I either end up looking at position that's too high, too much to one side, etc. or I end up looking at a position that slightly too low--resulting in a fatigued neck. - Change the rate at which the display scales based upon thumb stick movement. Whether I'm trying to scale the size of the display (x, y dimensions) or the distance of the display from the viewer (z dimension) the rate at which changes happen is too fast for me achieve the desired result. Reducing the rate at which the virtual display scales would be very helpful. - When using more than one virtual display (Monitor 1 and Monitor 2 selected from the Dash menu), I find it difficult to align the virtual monitors so they are side by side without some portion of the background appearing between them. There are a couple of changes I'd like to see: -- When I open Monitor 1 it defaults to a display distance of 0.7m, when I open Monitor 2 it defaults to a display of 0.6m. Changing the scale rate (above) will help with this, but I'd strongly prefer that when any display is opened it defaults to a consistent display distance. Pick one: 0.6m, 0.7m, or 250m--I don't care. But make it one--not a different one for each display. -- When attempting to align the edges of Monitor 1 and Monitor 2 it is difficult to achieve a seamless alignment. Please either automagically "snap" the colinear edges of the displays together or offer an option to have them snap together. Seeing the background between two (or more) displays is distracting and it is frustrating to have to work so hard to get a seamless display. Note: in my case the two virtual displays are at different resolutions, please align the top edge of the displays when snapping to accommodate Windows default display alignment preference or by default align them in the way the user has set in Windows display preferences. -- Oculus places user interface elements at the top and bottom of each virtual display but these do not span the full width of the virtual display so, when I get my virtual displays aligned there is a distracting gap at the top and bottom of the aligned displays though which the background shows. Please change your UI elements to span the full width of the virtual displays. -- Finally--and most importantly--I really, really like the Pin feature that prevents me from inadvertently moving displays once I get them set where I like them. Good feature. Thank you. In addition, however, I'd like my display arrangement, position, and alignment to persist between sessions so I don't have to position, arrange, and align my virtual desktop windows each time I wish to work in VR. This is the most frustrating element of using your virtual desktop features, please fix it. I'd like to reiterate that I really like the virtual desktop feature you've included (for free) and there are many features I really like (pinning, auto curvature, etc.) You've done a good job here. Please take some time to make it a little better. Thank you!
