It would be nice if sharing the Rift with the family meant they had their own Avatar in Home, and if not their own house, then maybe their own rooms. By that I mean that if you go into that room, you can launch Rift games from there and you'll have your own settings and save games. Would make sharing the Rift with guests a lot better too... Just go to the guest room.

This would be great. My wife and I have talked about this. I think she would use the Rift more if we could easily switch profiles and have this kind of customization.

I'd actually like to be able to save more than one room for myself. Especially as more objects are added. It'd be nice to have a basketball room. And a shooting range room. Unless they are able to make the home itself much bigger.

Adding multiple user accounts for families is just imperative. These should not only allow custom Home environments, but custom friends lists, achievements, and avatars. For families, it can be very awkward to have adult friends think I'm online when it's really my teenage daughter. This could be even worse once friends can "visit" your home in a social mode. This wouldn't be a problem for *my* friends of course, but I could see all kinds of trouble brewing based on behavior in Rec Room or even Echo Arena. The UI is secondary. Pick your avatar when you start (e.g., a Netflix model), enter different rooms, enter a username/password - whatever it is, family profiles are a must. Asking people to fully log out of Windows and rely on Windows Accounts is not reasonable.

There has to be a way to link a set number of computers/game install folders to a gamer profile/avatar. This would allow login in to a gamer profile from different Windows sessions, detect the machine its logged on to, find the game install folder and hookup to an individual game save location. Each game is installed once per PC, everyone has their own saved games (portable to other computers) and finally the Rift can be shared intelligently while preserving copyrights integrity (though I understand this last part probably needs to be renegotiated). The Rift is not a wearable. It cannot abide by the millenials' rule of "to each their own". Thanks

Oculus should have mutiple logins this way people can have their own oculus home when there are multiple users. Plus allowing some parental controls over the kids accounts would be helpful.

I agree with this. Depending on each households standards and morals, it may be appropriate to limit what younger ones in a household are able to access until they are responsible enough to make their own decision.

How is this not a bigger thing?? It's super frustrating that I can't have my wife get on Oculus without having my library of software using her own login. Who in their right mind would have to buy the games they own 3-5 times based on how many people are in the same house?

Its bigger than it may appear because the heart of this concept is spread out over a few variations of the suggestion. Combined I'd bet we have at least 100 votes and that would probably go up with more views.

My Rift is installed on my PC, and I'm the primary user, but I like to be able to let family and friends play from time to time, and it would be nice to be able to setup user profiles, so that they would each have their own Home(s), Settings, Achievements, Avatar, etc. There are (sort of) workarounds for some things, such as letting each of them decorate one of my Homes, but they still start in the Default Home and they have the available pool of items that I've earned (minus any I'm using). Many games also have slots for saved games, but many don't, and even the ones that do often have a limit of 3 saved games, which is a problem if someone else wants to try the game. Having Oculus User Profiles would be a much better solution. Plus, it would let them use my Rift without the possibility of screwing up my Home or my Avatar (which has already happened a time or two).

At this point I'd just be happy if we could assign homes names if nothing else. Each of my 3 kids want their own home, but it is super clunky since they are just home #1, #2, #3
