It would be awesome (especially in pass through) to be able to stick a variety of note types to physical locations e.g. a sticky note with writing, arrows (even animated ones), voice memos, short videos etc.
The Small Picture:
In VR mode only I see it being a cool addition to the sort of home office set up people are asking for with multiple screens but that's not my main interest.
The Big Picture:
In passthrough I can think of tons of business case uses e.g. virtual tours and training applications as big examples. I'd likely be able to overlay how-to documents and instructional videos onto machines to help train technicians like this.
Longer Term:
Being able to save these to those locations based on the environmental mesh data and the share them with others would be even more powerful. This would then allow users to build training experiences and then share them with others to view and explore.
Note - Right now capture of spatial passthrough data would have to be done using a phone and then uploaded and overlaid onto the spatial mesh due to the restrictions which seems like a massive missed opportunity to me. Just warn users that passthrough data is being collected and let them refuse the app permission to do so if it's a privacy concern.
