This is bad for VR at a time that it should be and appears to be heading toward more mainstream. Oculus, you review apps and games before allowing them to be sold in the store, so you should have caught this and asked the Dev to take the feature out BEFORE offering it for sale. We have games on SteamVR that are not available in the Oculus store, so why shouldn’t we be able to utilize the Quest to play them untethered?? I always prefer to buy my games/apps directly from the Oculus store so they are right there in my headset ready to start and play, but if they are games that aren’t available in the O store, why take away my ability to play them? This is a very bad look, Oculus, and it is putting a harsh light on what has been incredibly great comments and reviews about the Quest since it’s release. I urge you to seriously reconsider this decision

Please Oculus this is the main driving force for me to get a quest. If you force the removal of Virtual Desktops Wifi feature then I wont get a quest. 😞

Please remove this ban. It's an excellent feature that will only make the Quest more popular.

'Dear Oculus, As a customer, I would like this added. I promise you I will still spend hundreds of dollars per year on Quest software. There is a use case for both. Quest software always works, is fast and easy to launch, works when the PC is off, works at a friends, etc. There are a TON of advantages for native quest software. PC Streaming would be great for those few games that would benefit from the better visuals. I literally just returned my 64gb and bought a 128gb because I anticipate buying so much more quest software, and yes I still want PC streaming. PS I would alos love to stream PC Oculus games to my quest, and that seems to be a win-win for you - I'd still be buying those titles on your platform and might even benefit from cross buy and get Quest specific versions. - Jack

As a Quest user, I will be returning my Quest if this feature is not reinstated. Terrible business move and incredibly consumer unfriendly.

Absolutely it was an awful commercial attitude from Oculus. I purchased both the Oculus GO innitially and now the QUEST. Mainly I am interesting in the Streaming of VR games with the Steam app in th Virtual Desktop. Surely I will return or sell both headsets in case the STEAM APP will not be reactivated or included in the Desktop.- Dr. G. Martnz

Yup. I agree. Don't be an Apple and close your device. The PC showed us that more compatibility is better... Read your history. I paid about $400 for this device including tax... If you want me to continue to buy your products you'll listen your users.

I bought a Quest specifically for the functionality to stream steamvr to the headset. If this ban stays in place I can easily bring it back and get a different brand headset that better fits my needs. In fact this functionality is so important to me that I can't believe Oculus doesn't have a first party solution for this.
