If Oculus is taking away a feature that I very specifically paid for, I fully expect this to be added to the core product and as a superior experience.

I paid for this app specifically to enhance the versatility of my quest. This feature would help oculus in numerous ways. Oculus has gone too far. Listen to your fans if you don't want to end up like EA. Do NOT fight the users. We will end you!

I was going to buy the app because of this feature, but I don't think I will now. Shame it had to be removed, and it really shouldn't have.

I bought this device because of the possibility of SteamVR streaming and I've been loving it. The I fell in love with all the Quest store games and bought almost all of them too and I don't plan to stop. Now tell me, how am I hurting Oculus...

Oh Oculus, the streaming functionality won’t hurt your sales, it will only sell more Quests and when more people have quests, more people will buy your games eventually. You’re giving away a win win situation and receive a shitstorm instead. Really moronic of you guys!

To preface, I think that the Quest has knocked it out of the park w/ this launch, especially in terms of product polish and mainstream appeal. I can see there are some hard choices made in terms of library/store curation (and FWIW I agree with the "best of" approach and I've even rebought some games that I already own on other platforms just to show support/for convenience). However, I also have almost 100 SteamVR titles, and as you well know, most of those will *never* make it into your ecosystem. Obviously I don't expect 1st party cross-platform support (although I'd argue that *should* be on the roadmap in the context of the larger XR play), but forcing a 3rd party dev to disable such a useful feature (when you should probably be patting them on the back) seems like a pretty hostile/damaging/and most importantly, short-sighted mov, especially since the VR value prop is already so weak atm. This seems like one of those cutting off your nose situations, and honestly, is a bit surprising from a company that should know better about how to grow ecosystems. Making this move so early commits you to producing a platform that will be by definition more limited and less useful than the competition, and I don't think you've yet to give any compelling reason for early adopters or devs not to abandon ship when a less crippled alternative inevitably shows up. No one likes an ecosystem that's more restrictive, less useful, not ubiquitous, *and* doesn't play fair.

This kind of behavior is the fastest way to lose me as a customer, Oculus/Facebook. I understand the business need to funnel purchases and activity through the store, but this just feels petty. And it's hardly a way to endear yourselves in these fragile days, especially considering the microscope your corporate owners are increasingly under.

This is a terrible decision Oculus. This was one of my motivations to buying the quest, and it actually got me to buy some of the made for Quest games believe it or not.. I started browsing the store after I tried all the PC streaming stuff! Everything is connected.

Please learn from CD Projekt RED approach. Give more, fear not and expect bigger revenues then. Don't close, deny or remove. The SteamVR support in VD does not hurt Your sales, people will still buy Your products from the Oculus store directly as I do. Pay respect to the developers and the customers and it will pay off.
