My household has multiple Quest 2 devices. We use casting to Chromecast devices all the time. I personally use it to stream my Quest gameplay on Twitch and Facebook Live and have evangelized at least ten headset sales this way. My kids also use it to show off VR when their friends come over. Your alternative solutions of casting to a mobile device or browser aren't good enough. This change has severely impacted our user experiences in a very negative way. We will not spend another dime on your platform or recommend your products unless this feature comes back.

Remove Mandatory Facebook login in order to accept friend requests and use the Oculus app. I have never had Facebook nor do i want it. I just want to play vr. I don’t want to have to have facebook to enjoy my 500$ Virtual Reality Headset with my friends.

It would be nice to be able to toggle Passthrough on-demand like you can with the Rift S to be able to quickly see the world around you without having to pull the headset off of your face.

Currently you can't use Quest in the dark at all. Technically 3DOF tracking should work (just like the Go), so people can watch videos even in a dark environment. Just add a notification like "Tracking error. Would you like to use Quest in 3DOF mode?"

I haven’t made an avatar so my character just shows up as a grey man. I don’t care what the avatar looks like, but I don’t want to have to see the arms or torso! Is there any way to disable the avatar or go back to the original oculus transparent hands?
edit: In the comments the feature seems to be in the works!

Here's an idea: [ ... ] get the programming team to add a toggle in Settings to be able to turn OFF the mirror. Then sit back and watch all the 'THANK YOU's roll in to Meta...... I've not read of ANYONE who likes the mirror.

It can be hard for newcomers to demo the Quest when they have no idea what to do or can not find the app. People should be able to start an app as long as the Quest is connected to your smartphone remotely.

Let us cast games like beat saber. Party mode is pointless casting a blank screen. I can understand restricting livestreams, but local casting?

It would be great to be able to get back into a few of my Oculus Go apps on the Quest. I personally purchased quite a few games and apps and I would be delighted to keep them all together on the higher quality Quest.

In its current implementation, the Guardian walls are way too overzealous and pop up every time I move, breaking up my view and destroying immersion. The previous Oculus software was much more lenient with when it would display the boundaries. Users should be able to adjust the sensitivity of the Guardian walls instead of being forced to toggle them on or off.

Most of the times when I want to cast from my Quest to my phone, it is to supervise the VR experience of someone with little VR experience. Having the prompt inside the VR headset to accept the casting becomes tricky with inexperienced users, who usually don't understand how to navigate the UI or aren't fully spatially aware -- so while they're struggling, I can't see what they see. The phone I'm casting to is already logged into my account, why is this permission step needed? Or possibly have a setting to disable or always accept the casting via a setting in the headset.

You can get the time up from settings, but I would love to have a variety of functional clocks that show the system time - possibly even ones that can be set to a time offset for gaming with friends in other timezones. Grandfather clocks, carriage clocks, futuristic clocks, even some funkier things, like waterclocks and hourglasses that can be touched for the time.

For people new to the quest, you may or may not have noticed this incredibly annoying issue yet. Upon release of the oculus go headset, there was an issue whereby any power received by the headset while it was in a full shutdown state would automatically turn the headset back on again. This caused issues where the headset was left on charge then packed away without thought, only to find it was out of battery next time it was used. This was later fixed by an update for the oculus go, the same issue is unfortunately present on the quest However, on quest if you were to shutdown, cover lenses then put on charge, you'll find that not only is the headset turned itself on again but the screen has been on all that time unattended, headset hot and if volume is loud enough, making noise where it's in the confirm guardian state. There is no way to charge while shutdown at the moment, meaning if you were unlucky enough to have the lens cover off and charging while shutdown and not notice that it has booted itself up again by physically looking in the lenses, you'll actually find that next time you use it, it won't be 100% battery or worse still, completely drained. We need people to shout about this so they can push a fix asap, it's been done for the oculus go but needed people to shout about it, let's make it happen for the oculus quest! Pulling your headset out to demo to friends only to find its got very little battery life left (despite being on charge for hours before) isn't fun!

We should have a method of receiving messages into the headset. I think this could be done using the Oculus app itself. Let users send each other messages. I could create an oculus account for my wife, and she could send me an oculus message directly into the headset while I’m immersed in the virtual world...in case i need to help with the real world. And of course i should be able to turn this off if i want.

It would be pretty awesome if we could put our monitors on the wall in our rooms pernemently, so they stayed when we teleported around. Or maybe some sort of wall of apps from our desktop that we could quick launch.
