I know the Netflix app essentially was a pet project of John Carmack and it was really great on GearVR at the time.
Now it looks like a neglected child and need an upgrade to match the wonderful new hardware of the Quest 2.
Please talk to the concerned parties (Netflix?). And John, if you´re seeing this: Blow some magic coding dust its way. Please?
Wishlist by order of priority:
*Update the streams to HD-material - 480p doesn´t look good. (never really did, but now it looks horrendous)
*Update textures in the enviroment (gives us more enviroments?), Passthrough as background?
*Ability to watch together with a friend or two.
*Ability to download videos to the device.
*Give some love to Void Theatre and let us choose backdrops, color schemes or even passthrough + some more control on curvature of the screen.
*Maybe integrate it as an Oculus-TV-app?

Several other platforms like Steam, PlayStation, etc. offer family sharing for multiple users in the same household. The same game canât be played at the same time across multiple accounts or devices, but can be shared within a household in the same way that physical media works.

Your recent demand that all social users engage through Facebook is a bad decidion. I will not allow my children to be exposed thru Facebook so you can make a few pennies in marketing kickbacks. We will never participate in an Oculus social media again and I will actively campaign online against you from this point on.

What a horrendous marketing move.
You're basically telling everyone who bought the Quest 2 to go f- themselves. Too bad if you're an early adopter.
In addition, most of us who bought the Q2 can still refund it and get a new one cheaper, and with a free game.

It would be nice if I could make the guardian barrier bigger while playing seated games. If Iâm sitting in the middle of a room in a rotating chair Iâm capable of fully extending my arms without hitting anything, but the guardian system is often activated. If I set the guardian to roomscale, then sitting doesnât work well for some games as they now require me to stand and move around more.

Rift CV1 owners are concerned at the recent decision to stop selling the Rift CV1 accessories only 6 months after the sale of the last headset. Of particular concern is the lack headset cable which is probably the most fragile component. The expectation that we should buy a whole new headset if this $50 part fails is a major concern.
Many circumstances can occur outside of warranty conditions like
* pets can chew this cable
* accidental twisting over time fatigues the cable
* accidental falls can pull the cable from the PC
All these circumstances are not Oculus' fault and should not be handled under warranty. However the end user do have the expectation that they can repair a commonly failing part for their headset.
Consumer rights in the USA are very weak and favour companies over consumers. However in the EU, Australia and New Zealand the laws state that spare parts should be available for a reasonable amount of time after the product is discontinued. 6 months is not very reasonable considering that most users have an expectation that PC components should last between 3-5 years.

A survey of 250 Oculus users seems to suggest that most Rift owners expect to get approximately 4-5 years from their headset

Many of us understand that this cable was possibly being made by a third party who has made the decision to no longer supply them to you. However you made the design decision to go with a proprietary cable so unfortunately the onus is on you to abide by consumer laws and will have to either make freely available design specifications and connector patents so a 3rd party can make them or source a new supplier for this cable so you can sell it yourself.
Your quality end user support compared to other VR headset vendors has earned you a great reputation in the VR community in recent years. This quality support has definitely helped accelerate the growth of your marketshare with as Oculus owners recommend your headset to family and friends based on how good your after market support is. Please don't tarnish this reputation and abandon the early adopters that have helped to grow your ecosystem. We want to remain Oculus customers but it becomes the standard that headsets (including the Rift-S) will be abandoned 6 months after the product is discontinued from sale many of us will have second thoughts about buying future Oculus products as well as using the Oculus store.

My understanding is that cloud save functionality is available, but most developers choose not to use it.
It should be part of the Oculus approval process for games to ensure data is not lost if the Quest unit requires a factory reset, breaks or is lost/stolen.
This is something that is seen as the norm for other âconsolesâ so should be the standard if aiming for VR to be mainstream.
Backing up with usb over developer mode is not a good enough solution for the majority as it requires manual backups.

I just saw John Carmack mention this in his OC6 talk. I mean, come on, if there's a chance you can up this thing to 90Hz, even if it's only for desktop mode, then you really should make this happen. Yeah, it's a hassle and cost on your side, but not one customer is going to complain about you making their VR experience the best it can be, especially when from their end there's no hassle involved in getting that.

Please add software ipd adjust on top of the hardware solution to improve quality (stereo effect and chromatic aberration) for people that fall in between or slightly out of the 58/63/68mm of the hardware iPd adjustment.
This way we would get a good enough hybrid of quest 1 and rift s in terms of adjustment :)
Sadly there isnât a quest 2 page on here yet, so I hope that this idea still finds a few people that vote on it 🙂

My prefered way to make game purchases is via physical gift cards (scratch cards) that I buy at various stores to add funds to a virtual wallet that most virtual stores offer.
So far I have been able to make use of google play cards, steam gift cards, blizzard gift cards, PlayStation network cards.
Using PayPal or a Credit/Debit Card is inconvenient since if we don't have a credit/debit card or PayPal we can't purchase the games.
Even though you created an Oculus Quest which doesn't require PC or insight Track you can't really expect us to purchase the Oculus Quest or Oculus Rift S without another payment method like a gift card since it Prevents the customers under 18 to buy the game from the store.
And I know other stores that also offer this type of payment
Payment methods should be plentiful and convenient.
The Oculus store is the only one that does not offer a payment method that I can make use of.
So would you kindly add more?

When creating the Guardian, please allow you to erase some of the edges/area.. Currently if you make a mistake and you overlap the real world, you have to start again.
I would assume you could use one button to draw.. and another to erase...

As soon as you enter some games that use the microphone the oculus party chat no longer works, which means communicating with your friends to try and join the same lobby is impossible unless you have a phone nearby with their personal details to contact them.
This is a basic function on literally every other new gen console now, and with VR it should be no different.

The Quest is an incredible system, but all the games on there seem to be limited. SuperHot is awesome but only has certain levels to play. BeatSaber is cool but arms get tired after a bit. Minecraft, however, has unlimited possibilities. The only time you get bored is when you can no longer think of what to do. I think it would add a certain re-playability to the Quest. Of course, the Quest is brand-new, and new games will be added soon, but I think that the console could really benefit from something like this.

Though you can sort of hear audio through the speakers on the headset itself, it'd be far better for spectators if you could hear audio through the phone too, especially when the person using the headset is wearing headphones.
