i used oculus rift cv1 for 6 years and never had a headache but with oculus quest 2 i can't play for more than 20 minutes because of the brightness.i bought them 2 weeks ago but i have to return them because is imposible to use it

You're 100% right. Even at its lowest setting with the blue filter on it's way too bright, I can't play it at night any more. Why on earth would anyone need it at its highest setting?!!! It would blind you.

doesnt help that the display they put in this thing is so awful, looking at #000000 at minimum brightness feels like staring at the sun

Are you sure there isnt another problem ? Maybe check an eye doctor or something ? I use it on full brightness and I feel its not enough for me ? definately at 50% brightness is enough for most of the people.

I guess vr is just doomed until oled/qled becomes more affordable
