This is a VR Police Training Sim that focuses on officers to use words and not violence to control a scene. The objective of this application is to deescalate an aggressive character from further harm. User's dialog is the main input control aspect of this app. Through speech to text and sentimental analyzing software, the occupants words are interpreted by negative, neutral, or positive value. These value affect the assailant to affect their animations. The goal for the trainee is to guide the subject from a violent action to a calm and docile response, which the user can conduct authority.
Current progression: We currently have a working tech demo that does the speech to text and sentimental analyzing. The scene we have currently puts the user to interact with a homeless man in a city environment. The player can talk to the character which can be noticed on the far right bottom corner of the screen, which is trigger by the speech to text plugin. We use the WWW class to send the text to the cloud to be interpreted by a sentimental analysis software. This software assesses the text to return a numerical data which is then sent back to our application. That data is then computed to our product to return an animated result. A clapping, or happy dance shows the character to have had given positive words. A confused and shrugging of the arms is given when the user gives a neutral response. An aggressive or sad animation shows that the player had given a negative dialog.
Future plans:
We are looking to improve the game play by including an aggression meter to show where the subjects state of mine.
We are looking into adding more different characters for the user to interact
We want to improve on the environments
We have plans to include a tutorial or intro scene to assist in getting use to the applicatioin
Intro scene would be inside of the passenger seat of a squad car
This allows user to get use to using the voice commands for our app.
"Getting It On" A Musical VR Journey of a Breakup told through Origami
This is a collaboration with the hot Indie group Sales, and their hit single "Getting It On." The mission is to use Virtual Reality to simulate what a breakup feels like while staying true to the group's aesthetic. Since Sales uses the visual of collages and paper for their albums and singles, it seemed natural that Origami could be an interesting use of the medium.
The idea is to have the user inhabit a world made entirely of paper and origami and the different ways that paper can transform from folding, to cutting, to ripping, to melting when it comes in contact with water. The world will be built first out of physical paper then 3D scanned and built virtually.

Visions of Couple Happy Together
Some trees turn into visions of the couple happy and together. Doing things, kissing, etc.
Dead Trees
The forest fades into darkness, and the paper couples are melted away with tears.
I have received written permission from the group, and have begun to look into 3D scanning options with a scanner that is available through my internship.
