Atomic Vacation Update

My long time interactive designer/collaborator Cyril Tsiboulski and I got the ASUS and Oculus set up at his Cloudred Studio in Soho. We spent time going over the storyboard I made last week.  I love working with him. Here I am explaining Cantor sets, Klein bottles and the quantum eraser experiments, showing him archival footage of WWI soldiers with movement disorders brought on by shell shock and trailers for Douglas Sirk's 1950's melodrama masterpiece Imitation of Life--and he doesn't blink.

Cyril is really interested in trying to mix 360 video and CGI. He suggested that the videos I make of the actress be in 360 and be like other worlds that the player can temporarily enter. I love this idea since our project does not have a linear time or Cartesian space. I am going to go ahead and get the Kodak 360 SP based on my women in VR group recommendations. I found a great place to shoot the 1950s interior. It is a real original Lustron pre-fab house that is set up INSIDE the Ohio History Center in Columbus Ohio. I'm calling today, to see if they will give us permission. I love the Lynchian movie set feel--perfect for the cognitive dissonance we are trying to invoke.

I also created a role description for the actress who will be in dialogue with a text to speech computer program. It is attached below. It was really great to summarize the character of "Ray" the neurolinguist who teaches my robot girl how to be "human."
There are three actresses who have expressed interest. Amazingly, one of them is a Butoh dancer as well as an actress. For those who don't know, Butoh is a Japanese dance form developed in response to the horrors of WWII.  Dancers are usually painted white as if covered in ash. ha527ny6xzrb.jpg

I am seeing if she would let me film her dancing. Plan is to have at least 1-2 videos done before the deadline, the storyboard, audio files, text, image and archival video assets and a proof of concept demo.  1apdt4u3ior1.pngQ

Questions for the group--
1. what VR experiences do you like that mix 360 video with CGI?
2. I am going to experiment with 3D scanning real objects for use in Unity--what experience and programs/equipment have people used? Any advice?
Thanks in advance!!
