Francisco Rojas - Launch Pad "PHOBOS: Phobia VR Therapy" - Week 9

I spent the past week attempting to port PHOBOS to the Android Platform. It wasn't easy and extremely slow. As I reported last week, the first attempt at porting simply didn't work (and the whole project was around 8 GB). So after being frustrated a while, I chose to start a new Unity project with the Android Platform from the start. The first thing I did was to redo the UI for the intro scene, and made sure it actually ran on my S6. There are 3 somewhat interactive parts. First there is a safety warning as pictured below; you gaze at the Continue button and hold down the tap button on GearVR. The second part is a message that essentially states that the SteelSeries Stratus XL Bluetooth Controller for Android Devices handed out at Oculus LaunchPad is required. The last part mentions how to go to the scene selector scene to explore PHOBOS's other scenes after entering a scene. From the scene selector scene and other scenes, the gamepad is required to interact and navigate.

So far the port has many bugs fixed, but there is still a major one in the City scene I'm looking at. It has to do with the crowd simulation and vehicular traffic. For some reason, these simulations don't even start.

There is not much to mention regarding the port, it seems everything for the most part works. And I tried to only port the files that PHOBOS actually used to reduce the project size (3.44 GB). The current APK file size is 564 MB.

I hope to finalize the demo APK soon after I fix all the remaining bugs. But I wonder about the Oculus Signature file: this will only work on my phone, so how do we submit for evaluation by Oculus?
