Week 8 - Refining Animation

This week involved a lot of travel, so progress was minimal. I've never worked on a single clip this long before (almost 2 minutes) and am finding many instances where the long timeline is a burden, so I cut the scene into 3 clips. These can be merged back together later in story mode. This also allows for easier tweaks in timing, since I'm going for comedy, and most of that will stem from good pacing.

There will be at least 3 more weeks of animation to get everything polished, get finger and facial animations keyed, and figure out how the scene comes to an end(looping idle?). Oh, and there are at least a dozen unique clips for the secondary character which represent a lot of man hours. I think the biggest time burden there will be the export/import process of bringing them into Unreal, so I have a crazy idea of doing them all as child bones of a master bone, merging the dozen unique clips are all in the same take. So much tech art...I love it!
