This application requires the Windows App Runtime

Hi there:

I'm excited to try the Meta Spatial Editor. I got it to install just fine in Mac but am receiving an error in Windows. Specifically, "This application requires the Windows App Runtime Verion 1.5." (see attached). I've gone to the link, installed 1.5 and 1.6. I still receive this error. I'm not sure if anyone else is experiencing this. Any help is gratefully appreciated!

Okay. I got it to work. Here's what I did:

1. Go into the file folder and install the Windows App Runtime files from the Meta Spatial Editor folder:

"C:\Program Files\Meta Spatial Editor\v1\WindowsAppRuntime". I had to install "C:\Program Files\Meta Spatial Editor\v1\WindowsAppRuntime\Microsoft.WindowsAppRuntime.1.5.msix" and "C:\Program Files\Meta Spatial Editor\v1\WindowsAppRuntime\Microsoft.WindowsAppRuntime.Singleton.1.5.msix"

I then received a vrcore.dll error so I deleted the registry.

Goto Registry editor-> win+R->regedit->HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE->SOFTWARE->Microsoft->Windows NT->CurrentVersion-> Image File Execution Options -> MetaSpatialEditor.exe ->Right Click and export the registry settings for backup. ->Right Click and select Delete for the MetaSpatialEditor.exe registry entry for your application. Then run. (It worked for me).

Your mileage may vary. Be careful because this involves registry edits. Good luck!

Do you have McAfee installed? Here's a thread where they say deleting and reinstalling McAfee fixed the problem. https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/what-is-this-pop-up-about/344a3cbc-72b1-4cfb-b...

Clicking "Yes" here will take you to the download page for the Windows App Runtime. Once you've installed it, you should be able to install Meta Spatial Editor.

Thanks @positlabs. I don't have McAfee installed. Unfortunately, that's not the issue. I appreciate the response, though.

Thanks @austinwellbelove . I did do the Click "yes" and installed both the 1.5 and the 1.6 runtimes and that didn't do it. I also tried rebooting after the installs and no dice. Thanks for the reply, though. I'm going to keep digging.
