Black screen follows Unity splash screen

Hey,

I have the notorious black screen following the Unity splash screen. I'm running Unity 5.0.1 and Mobile Sdk 0.5. I'm using the default project settings from the vrUnity example and I have had my setup working absolutely fine for the past week.

But now, black screen! Noooo!

I have made no changes to settings, I have only added assets and made changes to lighting of the scene etc. If I create a new scene, dump a the OVRCam in along with some simple assets it all works fine! So I'm guessing it isn't my project settings. Can black screen be caused by something other than project setup, possibly something in the scene? The scene is quite complex containing lots of inactive gameobjects.

We were having problems with lightprobes and lighting in general... So we completely disabled any kind of (light-) probes in our scenes, disabled casting and receiving shadows on all of our objects and made sure that everything else was set to Baked lights... Now it seems to work most of the time.

Hey thanks for the input, pulling my hair out over here! If I deactivate everything in this scene and drop a fresh OVRCam rig in, it works.

I guess just a case of reactivating gameobjects one by one, building, deploying, then identifying who is the culprit. It could def be lighting although I'm pretty sure all my lighting is baked already.

Can you update to the latest mobile SDK?

There was a fix for a black screen issue (dealing with deferred rendering and image effects).

Cool, I'm updating now but not using deferred rendering or any image effects right now.

I slowly activated the gameobjects one by one and it all now works!? One thing I also did was clear my lightmaps and rebaked at 1024 atlas resolution rather than the 2048. Hoping this problem doesn't pop back into existence again.
