I uploaded a test version of our application to the pre-release alpha channel and was able to download and run it successfully on an Oculus Go. However, after posting a small update to the alpha channel, I've been unable to successfully update it from the headset or the paired phone. I get a notification that there's an update, the headset appears to attempt an install, but every time I try to launch, I receive the same notification that an update is available.
I wanted to try a clean install but wasn't able to uninstall from the headset (tried clicking the "..." and select Uninstall), so I removed the app via adb. After removing the app, it shows up as available for installation but attempting to install hangs at 0B / Total Size, eventually timing out with no error message. I was able to successfully reinstall the app via adb, but would like to find our what's preventing over the air updates via the pre-release channel. Any help would be great.
I'm getting this a lot on Go. Accepting update when selecting the app from Home (after updating directly to a channel), getting the initial progress info then the little floating icon that just says the name of the app (when it would normally show when the update is complete or the new app is installed). You can't delete the app either. Rebooting doesn't help. I'll try logging out/in but that's a pain. I hope consumers don't have to do that regularly.
The process works fine on Gear VR. ADB transfer always works as expected.
UPDATE: if I hit the Update button in the companion (Android) app, it gets stuck on "Requesting Installation". Maybe 15 minutes & my connection is fast.
UPDATE: tried logging out/in via companion app but no change. Same result every time on Go.
Shows Update button after selecting app Click Update button Shows "0/60mb" Shows "Download Queued" Shows "78k" or something like that Shows "Installing" Head-locked Oculus icon with name of app Shows Update button
I'm having this issue as well. I'm working in Unity w/ Mac OS. Any updates?
EDIT: Actually, I re-read the previous post and that fixed my issue. The problem was that I had manually installed the app previously. I used an Oculus Go that never had a manual install and I was able to update easily. This isn't an issue for me anymore. Thank you!
