Is it ok to buy Oculus Go from Amazon.com if I live in Europe?

I live in Cyprus which is not one of the countries listed on the Oculus site for purchase of the Oculus Go. Is it ok if I buy from Amazon.com or should I wait for a European version? I can't find on any European Amazon yet. Will there be any compatibility issues, apps not playing etc. if i purchase the American one? Also are there problems with power rating for charging?

Thanks

Can you hold out til the 26th June? EU release date 🙂
A PC with lots of gadgets inside and a thing to see in 3D that you put on your head.

I guess i can  :). But still I would like to know if there would be any differences in use if I purchase the US version.

There is no difference in hardware. Although you will need your own 5v 10W USB charger
Core i7-7700k @ 4.9 Ghz | 32 GB DDR4 Corsair Vengeance @ 3000Mhz | 2x 1TB Samsung Evo | 2x 4GB WD Black
ASUS MAXIMUS IX HERO | MSI AERO GTX 1080 OC @ 2000Mhz | Corsair Carbide Series 400C White (RGB FTW!)

Be kind to one another 🙂

The hardware is the same (aside from the US power adapter you wouldn't use). However, keep in mind if you import the device yourself, you may lose out on the warranty from Oculus (as this must be redeemed in the same region it was purchased). So I would recommend waiting until the product is more widely available in your region. Thanks.
AMD Ryzen 7 1800X | MSI X370 Titanium | G.Skill 16GB DDR4 3200 | EVGA SuperNOVA 1000 | Corsair Hydro H110i Gigabyte RX Vega 64 x2 | Samsung 960 Evo M.2 500GB | Seagate FireCuda SSHD 2TB | Phanteks ENTHOO EVOLV

I ordered my Go from Amazon.com instead of Oculus because Oculus do not provide a USB charger with the international version. Amazon sell the US version that included a 100-240V charger. You will need a US to UK power adapter.

I *think* it also worked out cheaper for me to get it from amazon (including postage) then from oculus.com

I don't know if that's really an issue.  It's just a standard USB power supply, most people will have several laying for their phones, tablets, ipad, etc  Or you can plug it into a laptop or PC.

I wouldn't see this as an issue. According to EU consumer protection laws, traders are obligated to provide a 2-year warranty. This applies to the entire territory of EU.

As long as OP resides in a EU member state (which they do), they should be in the clear 🙂

EDIT: Whoops, just noticed that OP was talking about the US version of Amazon. The former applies only to purchases made from European storefronts (.de, .co.uk, etc.)! I would recommend waiting 2 weeks. You will save on import tax and headaches with potential returns.

European Amazons have it for preorder now but they won't ship to Cyprus. Know of any other good sites that sell in Europe that might offer international shipping?

Use a parcel forwarding service perhaps 🙂 I have favourable experience with mailboxde.com

By the way, it is possible they will add more shipping options in the next two weeks. Right now Amazon.de does not ship the Go to my country, but Amazon.co.uk does (although, oddly enough, that only applies to the 32 GB version).
