I'm having a issue with Medium where it crashes on launch with the error Fatal Error Kcup has crashed. Everything else launches fine that I've tried. I've looked through some of the other threads and most of those are crashes on menus, I can't even get that far. Any ideas?
Im starting to think its because I have my 3 monitors and the Rift split between the onboard HDMI and the RX 470 HDMI. I've ordered some dongles to convert my monitors to display port so i can run them all off the RX 470. We'll see if that works in fixing it. Figured this was it after i tried to load Quill and it told me I needed the Rift on the same card as the monitor.
Most of the crashes we see are from people running various forms of performance tuners that affect the GPU, outdated AMD drivers were a frequent culprit, and some Malware scanners for some reason have a problem with Medium. Specifically that KCup crash we found an issue with unloading assets but you wouldn't likely see that on boot. We have a fix going through our QA right now and should be ready soon.
Attaching crash logs here would help though, helps us zero in on any obvious culprits but unusual video setups can certainly cause strange problems with OpenGL.
Looks like I was correct about the split monitors. I juggled the monitors and put the main monitor on the same card as the Rfit and it launched no problem and ran fine. Just to make sure I swapped it back and got the same error. My main monitor was HDMI from my motherboard and the Rift was HDMI from the RX 470 giving that error.
I have been having the same issue with medium and also with quill, I am going to change to a displayport cable for my monitor now il let you know my progress
