How much ram needed for "instantaneous" resolution raise?

Don't get me wrong, I love having 32gb of ram, and it's cut down the time of waiting for the resolution to be raised significantly, but I was curious if there was a way to make the wait time almost non-existant.

While RAM helps with those processes, resolution processes are all done on the CPU, it won't be gated by RAM.
Layers without much material should upres, to a point, pretty near instantaneously but complicated sculpts that are at high resolution require a huge amount of processing power. The only way to get those times down is proc power!

Thanks for the answer, Matt!
