Can you tell me a little more detail on the importing? Are you importing as a stamp? As a reference mesh? What is the model OBJ/FBX? Is it only occurring with one model? As much info as you can provide.

Hi, tried .obj first and that failed. When trying fbx things work a little bit better. But when I change resolution to max it starts to do badly. Seems like a memory issue.

Ah, yeah if you res up the layer you're importing too and then import a mesh of any significant density it'll eat through RAM extremely fast. If you're able to import at lowest res and step up until you know the limits and go from there may be your best bet.
