A perfect 1st VR experience so far. Thanks, Oculus!

Just want to give props where it's due.  I know others have had various issues with certain things (and that's a bummer to hear), but I am grateful to have had no issues whatsoever, so far.  Got on waiting list, received email, ordered, shipped a month before estimated, arrived quickly.  Just finished the pairing, setup, downloaded Nature Treks VR + Nat Geo (the two I was really excited about, many more on the list).  Other than the virtual environment selection screen taking a little bit to find a net connection, and double-tap for pass-through going black (no big deal to me at this point), everything has gone perfectly.
First time I have ever had a VR headset on.  Wow!  Simply incredible.  Have only had a few min to play in Nature Treks... genius, and a real work of art.
So, thank you, Oculus... looking forward to a whole lot of fun!

Welcome to the forum @dvc2112, glad you're enjoying your headset. I bought the National Geographic Explore app but haven't played it yet, Nature Treks looks good so maybe I should put that on my short-list!

Thanks!  Was an amazing 1st night with VR.  Nature Treks is very immersive and exactly what I had hoped.  The little bit I did in Nat Geo was great and looking fwd to really diving in.  Pro Putt VR golf chewed up most of the evening - awesome app!!
I was a little apprehensive that VR would seem like looking through binoculars with peripheral dark circles... not the case at all.  The tiny bit that's there is barely noticeable and disappears entirely in many environments - it's a lot better than I imagined.
Now I need to get SideQuest going - gotta try that Survivorman app!

Great to hear the fun you are having. It's true, most of the slated negative points of this gen of VR like screen door effect, view angle and low resolution evaporate as you become immersed 🙂

Just finished the Antarctica expedition in Nat Geo.  The kayak adventure alone is worth the price of admission.  It really felt like I was in one, and the paddle works as it should, steering and vibrating when placed in the water.  Scenery was expansive and it's something I will revisit many times.  You will love it.  Great views!  Maccu Piccu probably later this eve, though not sure it has the same "big" factor?  How am I supposed to get any work done with this thing around?
Edit:  Did Machu Piccu.  Other than the awesome moonlit recreation scape at the end, it felt more like homework having to take all of those photos to complete the tasks (and I'm a photog!).  Still, Antarctica is great.
