Is there any way to contact oculus support (is there one?) Community support does not seem to address the battery drain issue and there are many people describing same issues but no answers

@keoni1320 If you think battery drain problems are hardware related then you just need to contact oculus support (google for this). This is only a user forum, not an official oculus support forum.
The only advice I can give is to try not to discharge your headset battery below 25% since below this level the internal li-ion batteries start to produce more heat which will ultimately shorten their useful life.
As far a controller batteries go, use either good quality alkaline (the ones included from oculus are not great imho) or good quality rechargeable batteries. I use Eneloop standard (white) 1900mahr AA and these work great. You can buy a 4-pack of these including a wall charger from Amazon for ~$25. These batteries have a very slow self discharge rate so you will always have a couple ready to swap over.
I could be wrong but I think that the majority of reported battery drain problems come from those who do not understand how to get the best out of these to begin with.
Also, just because a lot of first time users report problems (any problems) does not mean it's an inherent Oculus issue caused by defects and/or software updates. The best thing to do if you have problems is to review Oculus trouble shooters on their website (Google. please learn to Google, lol!) and if you cannot resolve your problem, contact Oculus Support and start a ticket. You may also be able to use their Chat option for immediate help. If Chat is available it will show up on the bottom right support query pages.
Sorry but I do not mean to single you out but the number of new forum members (also at reddit) posting problems, usually without even any system details or any evidence that they have tried anything to fix it, seems to grow every day. I esp. luv the 'I have exactly that same problem' reply, lol! As a long time Oculus user I find this very annoying. Simply telling then to contact oculus support and then hearing they need a link and/or contacted support yesterday (esp. on a weekend) and have not heard back is starting to be the norm and is ridiculous imho.
So, from now on I refuse to try to second-guess persons who do not look like they have taken any measures to trouble shoot and have proof that they have contacted oculus support beforehand.
